STARRT Reflection

STARRT stands for Situation, Task, Action, Result, Reflection, and Transfer. The STARRT method helps you reflect on your own actions in a structured way. You first clearly describe what happened (situation and task), what your role and actions were, what the result was, and especially what you learned from it and how you apply those insights in future situations (transfer).

This method teaches you to critically look back on experiences, explicitly name successes and improvement points, and learn from them.

Starting Points

Key Points

  • You clearly and factually describe the situation, your own actions, and the result.
  • You demonstrate critical self-insight by clearly naming both strengths and development points.
  • You formulate concrete learning points and indicate how you apply those insights in future situations (transfer).
